How to Care for Your Vintage Cabinet Set Like a Professional?

White Kitchen Cabinet

Having a vintage cabinet set in your kitchen means you will have to clean and maintain it. However, when you do it, you have to be extra careful. Of course, you don’t want to damage the appeal and finishing of the pieces.

It is not always necessary to call an expert unless the kitchen cabinets are in bad condition. Cleaning the vintage cabinet set in your cooking space does not really have to be a pain. With little cleaning and elbow grease, you can make the kitchen cabinets look new.

Here are some of the most effective ways to clean the vintage cabinets in the kitchen.

1. Dish Soap Wood Cleaner

Run the surface of the vintage kitchen cabinets gently by pouring a little cleansing solution on a soft cloth. Make sure that you keep wiping by following the wood grain until the cloth does not collect dirt.

If the cabinets have more resistant grime, you can use diluted oil soap. Then you can rub away the stains on the vintage white kitchen cabinets with the help of a soft cloth. Don’t use an abrasive brush for cleaning the cabinets.

Get a soft toothbrush and dip it in the cleaning solution to reach areas that are otherwise difficult to access. Complete the process by wiping off with a clean and dry cloth.

2. Use a Cleaning Spray

You can easily spray for cleaning old RTA cabinets wholesale, which makes cleaning efficacious. However, you can develop your own DIY wood cleaner that leaves your vintage white shaker cabinets shiny without depending on harsh chemicals.

You can prepare a mix of vinegar and oil in a spray bottle and then spray it on the vintage cabinets. Then you can clean it off using a microfiber cloth. An all-natural cleaner works on leather and patios, too. Hence, you can save them to use one other furniture. The spray will then remove paint from kitchen cabinets and do not sand them.

3. Touch Up the Cabinet Finish

If the old finish on the vintage white shaker kitchen cabinets is starting to wear off, you can strip it and replace it with a fresh finishing coat. Nonetheless, it is often best to leave the cabinet’s wooden finish alone as lowering the cabinet’s market value, refinishing can be more work than needed.

If you decide to explore the finishing options available, you can just stick to the original finish instead of getting a new one. You can use coconut oil polish for leaving the cabinet shiny.

Prepare a mix of ¼ cup of coconut oil, 4 tablespoons of distilled vinegar, and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. You have to ensure that you shake the bottle whenever you spray it on the kitchen cabinet and wipe it off with a cloth.

Store the prepared mix in a cool dark place. However, as coconut oil can get spoiled, make sure that you replace it once each month.

4. Cleaning Water Stains and Mold

Water stains on your kitchen cabinets can be difficult to get rid of. However, there are tricks that will help you to eliminate them. For example, you can rub a tad of mayonnaise on the area. Let it sit overnight or for at least an hour and then wipe it off using a damp cloth. Remember you have to dry the surface of the cabinet once you are done.

If you have to clean the molds from the kitchen cabinets, you need to ensure that the space is well-maintained. Thereafter, you have to vacuum the spores using a soft brush attachment but ensure that you are wearing protective gear.

With the help of these tips, you can keep the vintage cabinets in top shape.
